With Thanksgiving just around the corner, these Indian Corn Mosaics make great decorations and are fun for the children to make!

Materials needed:  One Indian Mosaics Corn Template (linked in blue here) Corn%20Mosaic%20Templates.pdf, scissors, and glue sticks.

Print the file for each of the children on heavy white paper.  Have the children cut the orange, red, and yellow sections into strips.  The strips can then be cut into squares (for very young children, cut the squares prior to doing the activity.)  Set the colored squares aside and have the children cut the remaining corn pieces from the template above.

To assemble the Indian Corn Mosaics:  Have the children glue the small squares of colored paper onto the corn (see photo above).  After the children have completed the “mosaic” part of the corn, the children can glue the “husks” to each side.

For a fun song to sing – Jimmy Cracked Corn

For a good book about corn – read Corn by Gail Gibbons to the children
