Have a child with asthma? The Center for Disease Control reported that 7 million children had asthma in 2010. That is 1 out of every 11 children.

Secondhand smoke is a known trigger for asthma attacks. Recent studies have shown that children who have asthma and are exposed to second hand smoke have an 85% higher chance of hospitalization than do children with asthma who are NOT exposed to smokers. Make sure no one smokes in the home, car, or other places where exposure to second hand smoke can occur.
