U.S. health officials reported that state vaccination data noted an 85 percent drop in the highly contagious disease between 2005-2006 and 2013-2014, according to a report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC recommends kids get the first dose of the chickenpox vaccine at age 12-to-15 months and the second dose when they are 4 to 6 years old.
