Autism and related disorders often create very challenging issues for the family and for their child. Because of the complex and confusing symptoms and the difficulty in trying to determine a “cause”, there is an overwhelming desire to find a treatment or remedy that may actually “cure” or lead to greatly improved results.

Sadly, many false claims for both causes and cures are all too prevalent. These abundant claims may offer hope only to deprive families of financial resources and exhaust their physical stamina. Always seek the help and advice of qualified and experienced persons whose professional efforts offer the best understanding of autism. Avoid the temptation to respond to those who offer “breakthrough cures and miraculous improvement.”
